Jimmy has worked in the healthcare and fitness industry for over a decade, starting as a certified personal trainer with Canfitpro in April 2014 while attending the University of Waterloo for Kinesiology and Liberal Arts. While working as a personal trainer, starting in November 2014, he was introduced to a system-based, scientifically researched, fascia-focused manual therapy modality called Fascial Stretch Therapy by Stretch to Win Institute, and he earned a Level 1 certificate in May 2016. This led to both a professional and personal journey into the fascination of how fascia and its broad constituents are managed during psychological stress, mechanical repetitive stress/exercise, and healing and recovery.

In 2017, Jimmy continued his personal training career and started his own personal training business, focusing on fascial recovery and fitness through posture and finesse rather than weight-bearing exercises and repetitive wear-and-tear routines. That same year, Jimmy’s success using Fascial Stretch Therapy with clients led him to earn a Level 2 certificate in September. In April 2018, Jimmy completed the full Fascial Stretch Therapy system training by earning his Level 3 – Medical certificate at Stretch to Win Institute Headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. He continued his education and interests at Ontario College of Health & Technology in Hamilton, Ontario, and completed his Advanced Fast-Tracked Massage Therapy Diploma in August 2018. In October 2018, Jimmy passed Ontario’s College of Massage Therapy provincial exams to become an RMT with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

A year into his RMT career, Jimmy noticed a major gap in healthcare related to lymphedema care. At the time, there were approximately 100 Certified Lymphedema Therapists in Ontario, and over 400,000 patients had had or were at risk of lymphedema. He furthered his education by completing a course with Klose Training System and became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in August 2019. This certification included training in Vodder’s Manual Lymphatic Drainage education and techniques, along with the use of compression garment systems for swelling management. In September 2019, Jimmy passed a North American medically standardized examination to acquire his Lymphology of North America (LANA) certificate. This allowed Jimmy to work on caseloads alongside oncologists, vascular surgeons, cardiovascular specialists, wound doctors and cosmetic surgeons.

In July 2021, Jimmy decided to operate his own RMT practice in St. Catharines, Ontario. The practice solely focused on specializing in acute and chronic orthopedic pain management using Myofascial Release and Fascial Stretch Therapy while attending to patients that presented with swelling (edema and lymphedema) from various causes, such as: chronic venous insufficiency, peripheral arterial disease, malignancy, hepatic portal hypertension, renal failure, congestive heart failure, and surgical interventions.

In September 2025, Jimmy decided to take a sabbatical for personal development. From September 2025 to April 2026, Jimmy road-tripped and hiked through the deserts, canyons, and mountains of Arizona, Utah, and Nevada, camping at various sites along the way in search of a spiritual and unified path in life. In June 2026, he moved to Edmonton to be closer to his family.

Overall, Jimmy has a simple approach to therapy, combining multiple schools of thought in manual therapy educational material, multiple hands-on training, and years of experience – did the patient walk out feeling better than when they walked in? He plans to bring a professional, orthopedic-oriented approach to objectively structured clinical massage therapy to Alberta and aims to raise the standard of care RMTs can provide to the public.
