CHIROPRACTIC SERVICES

We are currently accepting new patients. While many patients are GP or specialist referred, a referral is not required.

Our chiropractors regularly perform examinations and provide treatment for car accident victims.

Our chiropractors treat a diversity of patients with a variety of health problems and varying treatment needs. Complex muscle and joint presentations that involve persistent lower back pain, sciatica, headaches, neck pain, and shoulder pain are commonly treated at our clinic. Each of our practitioners has different areas of interest.

Please read more about each team member to select one who would best fit you and your current health needs.

We provide direct billing chiropractic and acupuncture services for RCMP members and Veterans Affairs Patients.

TREATMENT TECHNIQUES

"Chiropractic" literally means "done by hand." As such, our therapy approach adopts a "hands-on" style of treatment and uses a variety of techniques such as Diversified and Gonstead. We also have low force techniques available, such as activator "clicker," drop piece, and pelvic blocks. We offer a range of options to suit a range of body shapes, sizes, and needs. We don't force anything. Technique selection is adapted to suit the patient's symptoms on presentation, state of health, treatment goals, and preference. Some patients find it difficult to "relax." Low-force adjusting techniques are often preferred in these circumstances, and we will use Activator or Drop piece style manipulations. We offer both styles of treatment. The goal is to release tight muscles and stiff joints, and we will choose techniques that ensure your comfort so you can relax.

We believe muscles should be treated with the joints to enhance the effects of treatment provided rather than just "cold crack." Our treatment times are longer for this reason. We use more time to allow us time to support our manipulations with targeted muscle work and to show you exercises so you can strengthen your muscles to support your joint systems and participate more actively in your rehabilitation. Deep muscle release techniques and or acupuncture support joint manipulation when tight muscles are associated with neck pain, lower back pain, jaw pain, shoulder pain, TMJ, foot/ankle pain, and elbow and wrist pain syndromes, and we feel help patients get more from their adjustment and go longer between visits.

A variety of chiropractic techniques exist. Different training institutions will have a different balance of focus awarded to various techniques resulting in different chiropractors treating a problem differently. These differences can be frustrating for patients that have had success with one practitioner and may have moved and are now looking to find someone who does it the same as Dr. "X" did! Our chiropractors are always open to communicating with your previous provider to ensure good continuity of care in situations where a patient is transferring to our office.

The Radix Pain & Rehabilitation Centre values our Veterans' and RCMP service members. We consider it a privilege to serve both DVA and RCMP patients who serve our country. Our office is an authorized DVAC and RCMP service provider. We will perform direct billing services through Medavie Blue Cross for Veterans and their pensionable conditions or active and retired RCMP members. To learn more about these treatment programs please visit our DVAC RCMP page HERE. We are happy to coordinate care plans with other providers and case managers when required as our way of thanking these outstanding individuals for their service to our country and community.
