DIRECT BILLING CHIROPRACTOR IN EDMONTON
INSURNACE & DIRECT BILLING
All payments are due at the time of Service
Chiropractic care is covered under most private extended health plans as a "chiropractic service" — and our Edmonton clinic offers direct billing to make claiming that coverage as easy as possible.
Insurance Providers We Direct Bill
We offer direct billing for:
Alberta Blue Cross, ASEBP, ARTA, Canada Life, Greenshield, Medavie Blue Cross, Manulife, TELUS eClaims, Provider Connect, Sun Life, Claims Secure, Group Health, Group Source, Desjardins, Cowan Insurance, GMS (Carriers 49 & 50), Industrial Alliance, Johnson Inc., Johnston Group, LiUNA Local 183, LiUNA Local 506, Manion, First Canadian, Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance, CINUP, and BPA — among others.
Not sure if your plan qualifies? Contact your insurer directly — we're unable to confirm eligibility before your first visit.
How Direct Billing Works at Our Clinic
-
Payment is due at the time of service. We collect payment first, then direct bill on your behalf where your plan allows it.
-
Authorization form required. Most insurers require a signed authorization. You will receive an email link to complete the direct billing authorization form via the Jane portal.
-
48-hour window. Please complete and return the form within 48 hours of us sending it.
-
If the deadline is missed, the card on file is charged in full, and a receipt is issued for you to submit to your insurer yourself. We're unable to retroactively direct bill past-due visits for administrative and processing-fee reasons — but we're happy to direct bill all future visits once your form is on file.
-
Plan changes? Let us know right away — a new consent form is needed whenever your policy details change.
-
Multiple insurance plans? We'll always try to direct bill your primary plan. Where a secondary insurer can't be billed directly due to processes outside our control, we'll provide an invoice for you to submit for further reimbursement.
A Note on Acupuncture Coverage
Acupuncture performed by a chiropractor is claimable under most plans only as a "chiropractic service" — not as "acupuncture." Check your plan documents or ask your insurer how this is categorized.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my insurance plan allow direct billing for chiropractic care?
It depends on your specific plan. Please contact your insurer directly, as we're unable to confirm eligibility before your initial consultation.
Is acupuncture covered under my insurance plan?
Only as a chiropractic service under most plans — not as acupuncture.
What happens if I don't complete my consent form in time?
The card on file will be charged in full, and you'll receive a receipt to submit to your insurer yourself.
Can you direct bill more than one insurance plan?
Usually only your primary plan — we'll invoice you for any remaining balance to submit to a secondary insurer.
